Hayfield 28 November 2010
Nine volunteers turned out on a beautiful crisp clear winter day. It was cold in the car park, waiting to meet up (in the shade), but on the work site the sun was pleasant and we soon warmed up. We spent the day cutting and burning Rhododendron on the south facing side of one of the valleys on Middle Moor near Park Hall Little Hayfield, we cleared an area about the size of a tennis court along the upper edge of the valley - with ice underfoot it was not practical to venture on to the steeper slopes nearer the stream. So that will have to wait for another day.
